Arrachar

A Scandinavian inspired refurbishment of a bungalow, which was extended to include a new first floor with high vaulted ceilings and tall glass windows, a black aluminium framed Porch and side addition.

The whole envelope of the new building was wrapped in natural Canadian Red Cedar, which contrasts beautifully with black windows.

Inside rooms and bright and airy with the whole of the Kitchen opening up onto the Garden at the rear.

Upper Deck

Our clients bought this prominent property within Lymington's Conservation Area and wanted to overhaul it's disjointed 1960's red brick facade.  The resulting refurbishment uses a bold contrast of materials and traditional detailing.  We were also able to add an additional storey with views across to Lymington River.

AVON CASTLE

We were inspired in the design of this Avon Castle new build, which replaced an unfashionable bungalow, by the surrounding natural environment.

The stack of glass boxes sit atop one another making the rooms feel like they're nestling into the woodland which surrounds the house.

NEEDLEFURZE

This is one one of our favourite projects to date.  The tired family home needed updating inside and out.  We chose to introduce a more coherent balance to the front Elevation, introducing a modern mix of materials and a strong sense of arrival with a large feature gable over the front door, which leads into a double height gallery Entrance Hall.

The house now has a real wow factor and sense of presence on the Road.

NEW ENGLAND

The client purchased a dilapidated house set within a spacious plot.  We chose to extend and reconfigure the inside and change the external materials, masking the ugly bricks with cement weatherboard cladding giving the property a New England style make over.

A new bare brick wall inside the main living area creates definition and focus within the open plan space.

RAVEN HOUSE

This renovation was definitely designed to impress and judging by the reactions of visitors, it manages to do just that. Our design for the replacement of a tired, traditional bungalow used a bold red brick contrasted with dark grey windows and simple detailing to give an uncomplicated, modern architectural interpretation to a Chalet Bungalow.

VINEY ROAD

A clean modern  home constructed using a buff brick and natural cedar replaced a dilapidated bungalow on this Plot.  The sage green windows help the building melt into the surrounding lush Gardens blurring the line between inside and outside.

The scheme and it's beautiful interiors, plus lots more inspirational projects are featured in the book The Versatile Home.

BAY TREE COTTAGE

This show stopping Kitchen Extension, which replaced a dated Conservatory, allowed us to reconfigure the inside of this chalet bungalow, creating a large open plan Kitchen/Dining and Living space with vaulted ceilings and roof lanterns, perfect for socialising, where parties can spill out of large sliding doors onto the purpose made deck.

MODERN FARMHOUSE

A modern take on rustic charm this new home built on the site of a small bungalow, takes its inspiration from the surrounding fields and long reaching views which are framed and brought into the house through the large picture window.

THE HIDEAWAY

A small building with big ideas!

This Guest Annexe is inspired by traditional farm outbuildings and clad in black painted larch which contrasts strongly with the surrounding green space.

Large picture windows link the inside and outside spaces and an external fireplace further extends this relationship creating a cosy, atmospheric patio area for all year use.

GEORGIAN REFURBISHMENT

A dilapidated family home desperately needed some attention.

We introduced more traditional proportions and a better defined sense of symmetry as well as clean lines and tall sash windows.

These sought-after features resulted in a pretty spectacular change.

BELMORE VIEW

A development of two new Chalet Houses on a back land development Site.

After much resistance from neighbours surrounding the Site we were able to successfully negotiate these striking and spacious modern Family Homes.
